Objectives:

  • To establish a causal role of specific infectious agents in human carcinogenesis.

  • To identify host and virus factors that influence the persistence of the infection, and ultimately cancer development.

  • To characterize the biological significance of inactivation of specific tumour suppressors in virus- and non virus-induced carcinogenesis.
