Objectives:
The Group investigates exogenous factors involved in cancer in human populations, and their interaction with genetic factors, with the aim of contributing to primary prevention of cancer. These objectives are achieved through collaborative international epidemiological studies, which integrate molecular biology and genetic methods in a multidisciplinary approach. A second approach used by the Group is through the coordination of international consortia of molecular and genetic epidemiological studies. The Group also provides the framework for the production of Handbooks on tobacco control.
