The main objective of the Section of Nutrition and Metabolism is to investigate the causes and prevention of cancer in association with diet (including biomarkers of diet), obesity, physical inactivity and endogenous hormones, through epidemiological studies such as the European Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) and other studies. The section is also in charge of investigating the role of nutrition and metabolism in cancer etiology using internal laboratory facilities and complementary expertise coming from internal as well as external support and collaborations.
This Section is still under development and more details on its main research activities will be provided as soon as possible.
