Meeting Announcement


Dear Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to attend the 2nd IARC meeting on Epigenetic and Cancer to be held in Lyon, France on 6-7 December 2007.

The goal of this meeting is to evaluate the state of science and determine the future research needs to stimulate research on implications of epigenetics in early detection, risk assessment and prevention of cancer. Technological advances in epigenomics for cancer research and molecular epidemiology will also be discussed. This meeting will bring together a group of internationally renowned speakers in cancer epigenetics and epigenomics in order to provide the best forum for discussion on recent advances in the field.

At the crossroads of the main European networks, the Lyon region enjoys an attractive geographical position dominated by the Rhône and Saône rivers which converge to the south of historic city centre.

Lyon was founded by the Romans in 43 B.C. and some of its historical areas were designated by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Internationally famous, French cuisine reaches its highpoint in Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy. Lyon is the birthplace of the Seventh Art where the Lumière brothers invented the cinema in 1895.
Boasting historic structures of the capital the Gauls and the former capital of silk and modern buildings, Lyon is an exciting and captivating city, making it an ideal venue for this meeting.
