Dear Colleagues,

Considering the success of our first meeting in 2010, as well as the very favourable and enthusiastic feedback from the some 120 scientists who attended, we have decided to repeat the event in 2012.

You are cordially invited to attend the workshop on Emerging Oncogenic Viruses which will be organized in San Pietro in Bevagna, Manduria, Province of Taranto, Puglia, South Italy, from 30 May to 3 June 2012.

This meeting is co-organized and sponsored by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) and is intended for basic researchers (biologists and epidemiologists), as well as clinicians. The official language will be English.

The objectives of the meeting will be the discussion and critical evaluation of epidemiology, immunology and biology of cancer-associated viruses. The meeting programme will emphasise new HPV-related cancers, and newly-discovered human polyomaviruses, although advances concerning other pathogens will be incorporated as they arise.

The venue will allow casual, prolonged personal interactions, so as to promote in-depth discussions and provide opportunities to establish new collaborations.
