Dear Colleagues,We are delighted to announce the 4th Workshop on Emerging Issues in Oncogenic Virus Research, which will be held in San Pietro in Bevagna, Manduria, Italy, from 15 to 19 June 2016. The meeting will immediately follow on from a major conference entitled “Global Cancer: Occurrence, Causes and Avenues to Prevention” in Lyon, France (7-10 June) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of IARC (http://www.iarc-conference2016.com/). The Agency would be delighted to welcome you to attend this landmark event before continuing on to Manduria.
The success of the first three Emerging Oncogenic Viruses meetings (held in 2010, 2012, and 2014) and the enthusiastic feedback from the participants (about 120 top scientists) have encouraged us to repeat the event in 2016 and to broaden the workshop’s scope. The meeting will still focus on novel oncogenic viruses, but will also include new insights on well-established oncogenic viruses. We have slightly modified the name of the workshop to reflect this expanded focus.
You are cordially invited to attend this meeting, which is intended for basic researchers (biologists and epidemiologists) as well as clinicians.
The workshop is organized and co-sponsored by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the German Cancer Research Center (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum; DKFZ), with additional support from other international and Italian institutes.
The objectives of the meeting are to discuss and to critically evaluate the epidemiology, immunology, and biology of cancer-associated viruses.
The meeting′s official language will be English.
The comfortable venue will facilitate casual, unhurried personal interactions in order to promote in-depth discussions and provide opportunities to establish new collaborations.
The seaside village of San Pietro in Bevagna is located near the city of Manduria in the province of Taranto, in the Puglia region of Southern Italy.
We look forward to welcoming you in Manduria!
