Elisabete Weiderpass: charting a new course for IARC

Before receiving a fellowship to spend a year at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France, in 1994, Elisabete Weiderpass was unsure of where life would take her. Observing the scientific and governing council meetings made a lasting impact.
