IARC PERSONNEL

The scientific work of IARC is organized into four pillars, which reflect the Agency’s fundamental priorities and consist of eight research Branches, as well as research Teams. The research Branches focus on particular areas of cancer research, and the research Teams, which are composed of members across Branches, collaborate closely on projects of common interest.

GOVERNANCE

As a WHO Agency, IARC follows the general governing rules of the UN family. It is governed by its own Governing bodies, however, the IARC Governing Council (GC) and the IARC Scientific Council (SC).

MEMBERSHIP

Today, IARC's membership has grown to 27 countries (founding States plus Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Japan, Morocco, Norway, the Netherlands, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland).
