The 2019 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit is taking place in Nur-Sultan (formerly known as Astana) in Kazakhstan on 15–17 October. The theme of the summit is Cancer and Universal Health Coverage. A delegation from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will attend the summit.
IARC researchers and experts will participate in and present many of the events during the summit, alongside about 350 global influencers and leaders in cancer control and public health from governments, other United Nations agencies, academia, non-profit organizations, and the private sector.
The World Cancer Leaders’ Summit is traditionally held by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in partnership with IARC, the World Health Organization, and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and is hosted by a member of UICC.
