IARC Governing Council meets in Lyon

The 61st Session of the Governing Council of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will take place in Lyon on 16–17 May 2019.

The Governing Council includes representatives from the World Health Organization as well as from the ministries of health, national cancer institutes, or similar government bodies involved in public health from each IARC Participating State. Observers from the IARC Ethics Committee, the IARC Scientific Council, the Union for International Cancer Control, and IARC’s external auditors are also attending the meeting.

This session of the Governing Council is chaired by Professor Mads Melbye of the Statens Serum Institute, Copenhagen, Denmark.
