IARC Monographs Meeting 126 to be held remotely

Due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, IARC Monographs Meeting 126: Opium, which was scheduled to take place on 14‑18 September 2020, will now be held remotely on 11‑20 September 2020.

A Working Group of 16 experts from 12 countries will evaluate the carcinogenic hazard posed by traditional uses of opium. The experts will not evaluate the carcinogenic hazard of heroin, morphine, or prescription opioid medications.
