The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has launched a new website for the SURVPOOL project, which links more than 20 cohort studies from 18 countries to study how lifetime exposure to modifiable risk factors, such as obesity, affects cancer survival. The project will expand the evaluation of known cancer risk factors beyond considerations of causes of cancer into prognosis after cancer diagnosis.
SURVPOOL is one of three international landmark projects brought together by the International Cancer Survival Benchmarking website: SURVMARK-2, SURVCAN-3, and SURVPOOL, in order to move towards better outcomes for all after a cancer diagnosis.
