Meeting of Cancer Mission Europe

IARC is today hosting a meeting of Cancer Mission Europe, convening a network of major European cancer research organizations, including Cancer Core Europe, Cancer Prevention Europe, the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes, the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, and the European Cancer Patient Coalition.

Individual institutions include the Institut Gustave Roussy in Paris, the Institut Curie in Paris, the Netherlands Cancer Institute, the Danish Cancer Society, the German Cancer Research Center, the Karolinska Institute, the University of Leicester, the University Federico II in Naples, Charité – University Hospital of Berlin, and Maastricht University.

Stakeholders will discuss plans on how to respond to an expected call from the European Commission for a Cancer Mission for Europe in order to tackle the growing cancer burden in Europe. The venture will focus on prevention research as well as clinical and outcomes research.
