Video: Ms Manon Cairat on nutrition and the risk of breast cancer

Ms Manon Cairat, a doctoral student in the Section of Nutrition and Metabolism at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), provides dietary and lifestyle recommendations for reducing the risk of developing breast cancer, in a new video to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This video is part of a short series of interviews with IARC researchers that cover topics related to breast cancer development, risk factors, and the evidence base for public health recommendations that aim to reduce the burden of this disease.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer type and the leading cause of cancer death in women globally. In 2018, there were an estimated 2.1 million new cases of breast cancer and 627 000 deaths from breast cancer worldwide.
