We are delighted to announce the 5th Workshop on Emerging Issues in Oncogenic Virus Research, which will be held in San Pietro in Bevagna, Manduria, Italy, from 30 May to 3 June 2018.
The success of the first four Emerging Oncogenic Viruses meetings (held in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016), together with the enthusiastic support of our colleagues in the oncogenic virus field, has encouraged us to repeat the event in 2018. Like the most recent meeting in 2016, the workshop will focus on novel oncogenic viruses, but will also include new insights on well-established oncogenic viruses.
You are cordially invited to attend this meeting, which is intended for basic researchers (biologists and epidemiologists) as well as clinicians. The workshop is organized and co-sponsored by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the German Cancer Research Center (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum; DKFZ), with additional support from other international and Italian institutes. In particular, the support of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (Trieste, Italy) in providing fellowships for junior researchers is greatly appreciated.
The objectives of the meeting are to discuss and to critically evaluate the epidemiology, immunology, and biology of cancer-associated viruses.
The meeting′s official language will be English.
The comfortable venue will facilitate casual, unhurried personal interactions, promoting in-depth discussion and providing excellent opportunities to establish new collaborations.
The seaside village of San Pietro in Bevagna is located near the town of Manduria in the province of Taranto, in the Puglia region of southern Italy.
We look forward to welcoming you in Manduria!
