Nutritional Methodology and Biostatistics Group
The contribution of nutrition to cancer etiology is complex and likely entails the interplay between numerous endogenous and exogenous exposures. Statistical models widely used in cancer epidemiology increasingly incorporate high-dimensional information, ranging from laboratory measurements, including -omics data, to questionnaire-based information on dietary, lifestyle, and anthropometric parameters.
The Section of Nutrition and Metabolism (NME) offers a unique research setting in which expertise on cancer epidemiology and nutrition meets biomarker and -omics research. The Nutritional Methodology and Biostatistics Group (NMB) fosters the methodological work that is crucial to integrate and optimize the use of these resources for studies of cancer prevention.
