HPV-AHEAD study featured on European Commission website

The EU-funded "Role of human papillomavirus infection and other co-factors in the aetiology of head and neck cancer in Europe and India" (HPV-AHEAD) study, which involves collaborators from IARC and nine other partner organizations in Europe and India, has recently been featured in the Project stories section of the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme website.
The association between HPV infection and cervical and anogenital cancers is already well established, but the role of HPV infection in head and neck cancer has been less widely investigated. The landmark HPV-AHEAD study is expected to provide important insights for the screening, diagnosis, treatment, and prophylaxis of HPV-associated head and neck cancer in Europe, India, and elsewhere in the world.
