IARC scientists offer advice to help women to reduce their cancer risk

Globally, more than 8.5 million women are diagnosed with cancer each year. Nearly half of these cases could be avoided with effective prevention measures. To mark International Women’s Day, which occurs on 8 March each year, we asked three experts in cancer prevention to share some simple steps that women can take to reduce their risk of developing cancer.

Dr Valerie McCormack, Dr Véronique Chajès, Dr Mary Schubauer-Berigan and explain some cancer risk factors that women may encounter and present ways in which women can take action to avoid or reduce their exposure to these risk factors.
